31 Days of Comics Challenge Day 11: An Old Comic That You Love

29089Back in the 1960s Marvel Comics had a great idea. They weren’t sure that Dr. Strange had enough fans for his own comic book and they were similarly unsure about Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD. And so they put the two in one comic book called Strange Tales. Every other month the cover would either be Nick Fury or Dr. Strange. So you got a cool story about magic AND a cool spy story every month. It didn’t hurt to have Steranko doing the art for Nick Fury either. Of course I wasn’t around when they first came out, but rereading them now, I wish that Marvel would do the same sort of thing now (Note: Neither Nick Fury nor Dr. Strange currently have their own book.)
